These are the five warning signs and symptoms of breast cancer that every woman should know:
1_New moles or a change in an existing mole
Moles can be considered an early indicator of breast cancer. Women with moles were 13% more likely to develop breast cancer than women without moles.
2_ Hoarseness in the throat and persistent cough
If the cancer spreads from the breast to the lungs, it may lead to persistent coughing and a hoarse throat. According to statistics, in about 60-70% of cancer patients, breast cancer spreads to the lungs, causing dry cough and shortness of breath.
3_ Irregular bowel or bladder movement
Breast cancer patients may experience a change in hormones, which leads to dryness of the urethra and causes urinary incontinence. This can cause urine leakage when laughing, coughing, exercising and even sneezing. These patients may also have an urgent need to urinate and take longer than usual to urinate.
4_Inexplicable fatigue and exhaustion
Most types of cancer include fatigue and exhaustion. Cancer patients may feel tired even after a good night’s sleep. They may also suffer from depression and pain as well.
Fatigue does not result from physical exhaustion, but from a chemical imbalance in the body caused by cancer.
5_Unexplained back pain
8 out of 10 people can suffer from back pain. It has also been discovered that breast cancer can be responsible for annoying back pain.
Breast cancer patients feel pressure on the spine and ribs, including pain in the upper back. It may feel as if the pain is coming from the bones, which may also mean that breast cancer has spread to the person’s bones.
